Our track program is open to all fourth grade students. It is a fun program that gives the students an introduction to the basic fundamentals of track. We practice several different events such as the 60 yard dash, 100 yard run, 220 yard run, Shuttle Run, and 440 yard relay. As a culminating activity students get to compete in a track meet against the other Danville elementary schools.
Volleyball is offered in the fall for 4th grade students. In this intramural sport, children work on fundamentals and how to keep the game moving. A highlight of the season is the final practice when parents attend and play against the students.
Scholastic Bowl is open to our fourth graders. It is a game played by two teams of five players each who try to answer questions in the areas of science, social studies, math, music, literature, current events, consumer education, health, etc. We compete against other elementary schools in District 118.
Mr. Davis organizes this fun club where fourth graders get to learn how to make beats on buckets. Students create different sounds and rhythms. The best part is performing for the different classrooms!
Our basketball program begins in February and is open to 4th grade boys and girls. We practice the fundamentals of playing basketball and working as a team. An elementary basketball tournament is held at the end of the season.
