Jacob Bretz
Principal
Jacob Bretz began working at Danville High School to start the 2007-08 school year. After graduating from the University of Illinois he began his career as a social studies teacher. He worked as a classroom instructor for 6 years, teaching US History and World Geography. After going back to school to earn his master's degree in Educational Policy, Organization and Leadership from the University of Illinois, he moved into the role of assistant principal at the start of the 2013-14 school year and then principal in 2023. Mr. Bretz loves working at Danville High School because of the rich history, caring staff, and incredibly talented student body. Even though he is originally from Springfield, IL, Danville welcomed him as a young educator with open arms. There's no place he'd rather be.

DeMarko Wright
Associate Principal
DeMarko Wright serves as the Associate Principal and Director of Freshman Academy at Danville High School in Danville, IL. He is a proud Danville High School graduate and considers it an honor to work at the school from which he graduated. Mr. Wright has a deep commitment to serving the students of District 118 and the Danville community. Go Vikings!

Elizabeth Cosat
Assistant Principal
Elizabeth Cosat is an Assistant Principal at Danville High School. She graduated with her bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern Illinois University. She has 25 years of special education teaching experience at all levels and has taught in Danville District #118 since 2007. She has assumed multiple leadership positions within the district throughout the years and is a 2017 recipient of the Golden Ruler Award.
Mrs. Cosat and her husband have 2 children that both attend Danville schools. In her free time, you can find her cheering on her children at their extra-curricular activities.

Mitzi Campbell
Principal
Mitzi Campbell is the proud principal of Kenneth D. Bailey Academy. She began her career in Danville as a middle school teacher for alternative education. Highlights of her teaching career include the unification of the alternative programs to KDBA’s current location, being named the 2013 Dr. David L. Fields Middle School Teacher of the Year, and, of course, working with some of the most bright and resilient students in the community. Since her time in the classroom, Mrs. Campbell has had the opportunity to serve as a dean and assistant principal at Danville High School, assistant principal at South View Upper Elementary, and assistant principal and building principal at KDBA.
Mrs. Campbell has a passion for alternative education and she wholeheartedly believes in the mission of KDBA, which is to “empower students to be socially and academically responsible, to foster confidence, and to build self-worth by creating a nurturing atmosphere where students can be successful and embrace new possibilities.” Mrs. Campbell loves working alongside the exemplary staff and students of KDBA!

Jamie Skovran
Assistant Principal
Mrs. Jamie Skovran is a proud product of Danville District #118 schools. As a 1997 graduate of Danville High School, she is proud to serve her educational community as assistant principal at Kenneth D. Bailey Academy. With over 20 years of experience at the middle school level, she is well prepared for the assignment. Mrs. Skovran was also the 2020 winner of the Dr. David L. Fields Teaching Award, a 2019 recipient of the Golden Ruler Award, and assumed multiple leadership positions within the district.
For Mrs. Skovran, alternative programs are her passion. Finding new and exciting ways to reach all students has been the cornerstone of her career.
North Ridge Middle School

Michael Gourley
Principal
Mr. Gourley is a native of the Danville area and graduated from Schlarman High School. After graduating from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, he began his career teaching history and social studies in Normal. He later earned a degree in Educational Administration and Foundations from Illinois State University and moved into an assistant principal position. He continued to serve in administration as an associate principal in Urbana and principal in Morton and Morris. Mr. Gourley is excited to be taking on the role of North Ridge Middle School Principal and is looking forward to working with their outstanding staff and students. In his free time, Mr. Gourley enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and other outdoor activities.

Mr. Henderson is a Danville native and product of the public school system as a 2002 graduate of Danville High School. He began his career in education as a secondary English teacher, including the last ten years in Danville. He is excited and honored to continue his role in education as Assistant Principal at North Ridge Middle School.

Robin Fluno
Principal
Hi, I am Mrs. Robin Fluno. I am excited to be the new Principal at South View Upper Elementary School. Most recently I served as the Associate Principal at North Ridge Middle School. I started my career with Danville School District 118 in January 2004, as a 5th grade teacher at Meade Park Elementary School. Throughout my tenure, I have been at Meade Park, the Jackson Building, South View Middle School, and Mark Denman Elementary School. I have gained many “kids” throughout my years. I look forward to my new role and helping the students at SVUE reach their fullest potential.

Mrs. Edrington is happy to be a part of the District 118 family. She is a product of Danville; she attended Garfield Elementary, North Ridge, and is a 1999 graduate of Danville High School. She continued her education and graduated with her bachelors and masters from Eastern Illinois University. This will be her 19th year in education. She has been a classroom teacher at Southwest and North Ridge, and has spent the last several years as a district coach. She is excited and proud to be part of the SVUE Spartans!

My name is Steven Martin and I am the assistant principal at South View Upper Elementary school.
I began my teaching career in 2009 in Danville District 118. Over the years I have taught at North Ridge, South View and Kenneth D. Bailey Academy. I have also coached baseball, basketball, volleyball, and cross country.
I am married with one son. My wife and I are very active in our church and enjoy spending time with our family and friends.
I look forward to this opportunity to continue to serve the students, staff and parents of Danville District 118.

Amber Gouard
Liberty Elementary - Principal
Amber Gouard is a Danville native who was raised in Chicago, Illinois. Although some of her family still reside in Chicago, Mrs. Gouard returned to Danville to pursue her career as an educator. Mrs. Gouard received her Associates Degree from Danville Area Community College, and her degrees in Education and Educational Leadership from Eastern Illinois University. Mrs. Gouard considers Danville her home and chose to raise her son in a place she feels offers the small-town sense of community she loves. Mrs. Gouard is passionate about her hometown and its people. Mrs. Gouard, in her spare time, enjoys spending time with her son, family and friends.

I have served students, teachers, parents, and communities for over 33 years. I was a Music/Band director for 17 years in Kentucky and served as school and district administrator for 15 years as Assistant Principal, Chief Academic Officer, Director of Pupil Personnel, and Superintendent. After retirement, I worked for Western Kentucky University for three years, and four years in China. I came to Danville District 118 in 2022 as Assistant Principal at North Ridge Middle School. This year, I am so excited to be here at Southwest Elementary with the wonderful staff and students. I have a son, daughter, grandson, and I enjoy hiking, walking, and having fun with friends. Together, the Coyote Pac will have a fantastic year!

Mark Denman Elementary - Principal
My name is Stacie Sollars and I am currently the Principal at Mark Denman Elementary School. I have also served as the Interim Principal at Garfield Elementary and Assistant Principal at North Ridge Middle School. I have been part of the Danville District 118 family for 19 years and am proud to call this district my home. When I am away from school, I love spending time with my family and watching my daughter play volleyball and softball. I am looking forward to meeting all our families, and working together to achieve the highest levels of success!

My name is Mr. Justin Thorlton and I am happy to the principal of Northeast Elementary Magnet School. I have proudly been part of Danville District 118 for over twenty years. My wife, Kate and I have four wonderful children that keep us on our toes. My name is Blake Bodine and I am one of the assistant principals at Mark Denman Elementary School. I was born and raised in Vermilion County. I taught social studies at PBL High School for 7 years while also coaching football and basketball. This is my second year in Danville as I previously served as a dean of students at Danville High School. My wife, Haley and I have a one year old who constantly keeps us busy. I look forward to my first year as an assistant principal and working with others to help every student reach their full potential. Go Rockets!

Brent Lockhart
Assistant Principal - Mark Denman Elementary
My name is Brent Lockhart and I am excited to start my first year in administration as one of the assistant principals at Mark Denman Elementary School. I am committed to the District’s mission to see that every student reaches his or her full potential. I see it as my responsibility to support students and staff in any way to ensure that students learn in a safe, academically challenging environment. I was raised on a farm just north of Danville in Wellington, IL. I received my master's degree in 2022 from the University of Illinois. In the past, I taught music at Hoopeston Area Schools and most recently at Northeast Elementary School. I’ve also enjoyed serving as the DHS soccer coach for the boys. The students and staff of District 118 have made me feel very welcomed since I came here, and I look forward to paying that forward to all those that I encounter in my new position. Let’s go Rockets!
