Extended Year

  • Some students need more time and practice than can be provided during the traditional school year to learn the concepts and skills necessary to meet district and state standards.  The Extended Year Program is designed to address the needs of these students and is provided, dependent upon state funding.

    Student Qualifications:

    • Student must be referred by classroom teacher and/or building administrator
    • Student must be identified as at-rish of failing to meet district or state standards

    Some Brief Facts:

    • Typically offered within the first six weeks of summer
    • Students attend five days a week for a minimum of 4 hours per day
    • Breakfast and/or snack is provided for all students
    • Participation in Extended Year summer programming may or may not impact student placement for the coming school year
    • Parent permission is required
